Case study · co-founder · closed after 2 years
SeniorCare+
What LiveKid does for kindergartens, we built for nursing homes: an app that gives families a daily window into their loved one's life at a care facility — photos from activities, meals, medication and visit info, and a direct chat with caregivers. Built as Senior Care Technology sp. z o.o. with one co-founder, run for 2 years, then honestly shut down.

- A daily feed for families: photos and updates from activities, meals and mood — the "how is mom doing today?" answer without a phone call.
- A care panel for staff: schedules, medication confirmations, visit hours — less paperwork, fewer repeated questions from families.
- Direct family–caregiver chat, so information flows through one trusted channel instead of reception desks and phone tag.
Why it didn't work
The product worked; the market didn't move. Care homes in our segment had long sales cycles, tight budgets and low digitization pressure — the buyer (the facility) and the beneficiary (the family) were different people, and neither felt enough pain to pay. After 2 years of pushing we made the honest call and closed the company instead of letting it drift.
Why it matters to you
This failure is baked into how I work today: validate willingness to pay before building, ship the smallest sellable thing, and watch who the real buyer is. When I estimate your project, that 2-year lesson is part of the estimate — it's why Photomize started charging from week one.
